The Bi-Vi Beetle
The BiVi Beetle sinks quickly in fast water; while it was designed specifically for steelhead and salmon, small mouth bass and other river-dwelling species find it attractive.
The BiVi Beetle is constructed around a number four salmon hook (larger or smaller versions are possible, too), secured with waterproof epoxy between two spinner blades of different finishes. The blade finishes may be bronze, silver, or colored;feather or hair is tied to hook and/or to the top blade with black thread that also forms head of the beetle. It is important to bend the hook downward away from the bend of the hook (so the blades fit properly together) and in an rough S-curve perpendicular to the bend of the hook (so the hook does not twist inside its shell.)
Send $3 for postpaid complete tying instructions and sample ($12.50 for five in various combinations) to George M. Richard, 2400 East Bradford Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53211
